Erica Barbosa Vargas

EVP, Global Head of Investments, SecondMuse Capital

Erica serves as EVP and Global Head of Investments at SecondMuse Capital, an impact investing firm focused on financing economies of the future and specializing in the intersection of impact investing and systems innovation. Erica joined SecondMuse Capital from the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation where, as Director of Solutions Finance, she spearheaded McConnell’s impact investing practice, which includes a multi-asset impact investing portfolio ($130M AUM), blended finance approaches; and ESG integration within the Foundation’s endowment. Prior to joining McConnell, Erica spent 13 years in the private sector and international development, primarily in Latin America, Canada, and the UK. She currently sits on a number of boards and investment committees of impact-oriented institutions across Canada. Erica completed undergraduate studies in behavioral psychology and neuroscience and holds an MPA in Public and Economic Policy from the London School of Economics & Political Science.
