Tristan Smyth

Managing Director, BSR Impact

Tristan Smyth (they/them) is Managing Director of BSR Impact, a consulting firm that helps organizations to develop social finance products and to assess and scale their impact. A recognized nonbinary advocate working at the intersection of DEI and ESG, Tristan is active in helping companies and charities scale for impact. Outside BSR Impact, they lead a graduate seminar on impact investing at Carleton University and serve in board director or advisory roles with the Table of Impact Investment Practitioners (TIIP), Common Approach to Impact Measurement, Giyak Mishkawzid Shkagmikwe Corporation (GMS), Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC), Textile Museum of Canada, Living Wage Canada, and Mount Royal University Alumni Association. Tristan was named by Future of Good as one of Canada’s top 21 Young Impact Leaders in 2019 and Forty Under 40 by the Ottawa Board of Trade in 2023.
